Rosary Ferns to perform in tiatr 'Mahanand - Monis vo Soitan'


Renowned Goan Tiatrist Rosary Ferns who himself created history when his Konkani Drama "KUWAIT SODDUN VETANA" was staged at American International School Auditorium in Kuwait last September by the Mangalorean Konkani followers. The original drama was staged in Goan Roman script Konkani on 16th January last year at Hawally A/C Hall with a packed hall audience was translated into Mangalorean Konkani under the direction of Lancy Rodrigues.

Rosary Ferns hailing from Colva, Salcette, Goa and being a long timer in Kuwait, has written and directed over 20 full-fledged Konkani Tiatros, 12 of which were staged in Kuwait itself. Besides, he has written a number of One Act Plays, Operettas, Mandos & Dulpods and countless songs and interestingly these creative works of Rosary Ferns have been presented by different organizations Kuwait. Rosary Ferns has produced 13 Konkani Albums in the form of Audio Cassettes & CDs. As a matter of interest, his 14th and new Album "DINARACHO VALOR" was also released in September 2009 in Kuwait and simultaneously all over the Konkani world. Additionally, he has produced 2 VCDs – ‘Kanvllo Roddlo Lozen’ and ‘Mogan Tujea Lasota’. Rosary Ferns has also scripted and directed a mighty Konkani show in Kuwait known as ‘SONGIT SANZ’ under Kuwait Konknni Kendr (KKK).

In August 2005, for his enormous contribution in the promotion of ‘Konkani Songit Kala’, Rosary Ferns was honored by the well known Mangalorean Association, ‘Konkani Kulvar Kuwait’.

Rosary Ferns has always strived through Konkani Stage and cultural programs to bring about fusion of all the Konkani speaking people in Kuwait in general, Mangalorean and Goans.

In Tony Dias’ tiatr ‘Mahanand – Monis vo Soitan’ Rosary Ferns will perform at the Daiya Fencing Hall Auditorium on Friday, 15th January 2010 at 4:30 p.m. in a Kala Mogui Kuwait's presentation who have re-designed the auditorium with specially elevated risen seating arrangement and stage setting with the state of the art sound system and light effects.

The tiatr is based on a true story of a serial killer that rocked Goa, written and directed by Tony Dias and has a formidable cast comprising of Jessica, Jane, Bushka, Shruti, Filu Dias, Jazu, Franky, Trindade, Bingi, Socorro de St. Cruz, Connie M, Filipe Almeida, David D'Costa, Comedian Janet, Comedian Aurelio & Comedian Ambe which is also supported by Kuwait-based renowned singers Bab Agnel, M.Luis, mimicry artiste Edward Estibeiro, Comedian Philip and musician Shahu.
